Built with alterations
A summer house with an artist’s studio for woodcarving. The studio faces north to avoid direct sunlight. An existing fresh-water well defines the form of the building plan and is the focal point of the outdoor space.
The height of the building is restricted by local regulations. A solution with an “empty” roof is proposed, in which the roof planes define the ceiling, creating a high space with a one-and-a-half storey height (x 1,5) in the living room and the studio.
